The information below relates to a State of Indiana licensing-board requirement. It is not an IAPI membership fee and is not paid to IAPI.

• Cycle: PI firm & security guard agency licenses expire October 1 every fourth year (e.g. 2023, 2027).
• State renewal fee: $300, paid to the State of Indiana — not to IAPI.
• Background check: Each qualifier should obtain a state-level limited criminal background check covering the 4 preceding years. Third-party checks are not accepted.
• Notices: Renewal notices are sent approximately 90 days before expiration.
